AIGA is a professional association that aims to advocate and raise awareness for the design profession. For AIGA and the Colorado chapter, work completed includes a Bordo Bello submission, national conference attendee directory, and Heart Art auction collateral system.
My submission to AIGA Colorado’s 2010 Bordo Bello Skateboard Art Fundraiser. Inspired by a 3,000+ mile road trip through America’s southwest, my deck was influenced by the colors, vastness, and expanse of the road and landscape encountered. Various markers, stains, and varnishes were utilized to create the final piece.
In 2007 I was lucky enough to work with long time friend, colleague and mentor Tom Ema – owner and creative director of Ema Design Inc. – on a piece for AIGA’s national design conference held in Denver that fall. Under his vision and direction we created an attendee directory that each participant in the conference received as part of their event package. The design for the directory utilizes a number of founds objects and textures meant to symbolize the gathering of people and ideas at the conference.
Design and production art for AIGA Colorado’s 2008 Heart Art auction. Pieces produced include poster, invite, and give-a-ways and were produced with a variety of printing techniques including metallic inks, blind embosses, and die cuts. All incorporate textures produced from wood-type prints.
